Abstract
A mathematical model of microbial growth in a thin layer of a solid su bstrate is described. The model includes dependencies of growth rate a nd heat generation on temperature. Parameters of the model have been e stimated for the culture of Aspergillus niger under isothermal conditi ons. Results of calculation show an importance of heat transfer throug h a tray. The height of the bed is essential for the process.
