Abstract
The condensation reaction of acetylferrocene with aromatic aldehydes w as investigated by the formation of the beta-cyclodextrin (beta-CD) in clusion complexes. Eight novel and optically active compounds were syn thesized and characterized by IR,H-1 NMR spectroscopies and elemental analysis. The data of [alpha](16)(578) of the compounds were determine d. From their esters with D-camphor-beta-sulfonic chloride the optical yields (e.e.%) of some compounds were determined by HPLC. Copyright ( C) 1996 Elsevier Science Ltd
