Abstract
Reaction of mixtures of lanthanide chlorides and transition metal chlo rides with lithium oxide at 800 degrees C for 2 h in air provides a fa cile route to mixed metal oxides of the formulae LnCrO(3) and LnFeO(3) (Ln = La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy, Ho, Er, Yb). The solids were charac terized by X-ray powder diffraction, SEM, EDAX, FT-IR and magnetic mom ent measurements. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Ltd
