W. Mullerwarmuth, THE STRUCTURE OF GLASSES STUDIED BY MAS-NMR SPECTROSCOPY OF QUADRUPOLAR NUCLEI, Zeitschrift fur Naturforschung. A, A journal of physical sciences, 51(5-6), 1996, pp. 585-590
High-resolution solid state NMR spectroscopy of quadrupolar nuclei (pr
eferentially B-11 and Al-27) has been employed to study the microstruc
ture of glasses. Importance has been attached to the extraction of the
fundamental NMR parameters like chemical shift, quadrupole coupling c
onstant etc., from the spectra, first of all by applying satellite tra
nsition spectroscopy. Exemplary results are represented for ternary ox
ide glass systems such as K2O-Al2O3-SiO2, B2O3-Al2O3-P2O5, Na2O-B2O3-S
iO2 and Na2O-B2O3-Al2O3.
