Abstract
A series of tribromogermanate(II) complexes RGeBr(3) (R = CH3NH3, (CH3 )(2)NH2, (CH3)(4)N, C2H5NH3, (C2H5)(4)N) have been synthesized and cha racterized by Br-81 NQR, AC conductivity, DTA, and X-rax diffraction. These measurements revealed the presence of successive phase transitio ns in these complexes. The crystal structures of Phases I and II in (N H3)(4)NGeBr3 were derived from the Rietveld analysis of powder X-ray d iffraction. The electric conductivity was considerably high in CH3NH3G eBr3 and (NH3)(4)NGeBr3. The conduction mechanism is discussed on the basis of Br-81 NQR spin-lattice relaxation times and crystal structure s.
