Abstract
Renal alpha(1)-adrenoceptors are involved in the regulation of renal b lood flow, glomerular filtration rate, renin secretion, and sodium, ca lcium and bicarbonate reabsorption([1,2]). This paper reviews the char acterization of rat renal alpha(1)-adrenoceptor subtypes, their signal ing mechanisms, their possible functional roles, and their regulation in the spontaneously hypertensive rat (SHR).
