Abstract
In the framework of the CommonKADS methodology attention is paid to th e organizational consequences knowledge-based systems can have. The Co mmonKADS organization model is developed to support this important asp ect of project work. This model is described in some detail. Additiona lly the model is implemented in the frame of the CommonKADS Workbench. This permits computer supported construction of a model. The organiza tion model has been used in several projects. Results of applying the model are described. It is shown that the availability of a model can be of substantial help in identifying positive and negative impacts of a knowledge based system. These impacts are crucial for decision maki ng before, during and after a project. In addition the model provides people involved in a knowledge-based systems project with a kind of '' feeling'' for the organization in which the system will become operati onal.
