Mh. Mccay et al., REFRACTIVE-INDEX OF NH4CL-H2O AS A FUNCTION OF WAVELENGTH - THE EFFECT OF TEMPERATURE AND CONCENTRATION, Applied optics, 35(19), 1996, pp. 3715-3718
The refractive index of NH4Cl-H2O solutions has been measured over a w
avelength range from 496.5 to 690 nm. The NH4Cl concentration was vari
ed from 15 to 30 wt. % over a temperature range from 10 to 35 degrees
C. We obtained mathematical equations relating the refractive index to
wavelength, temperature, and concentration using the least-squares me
thod. A knowledge of these properties is important for analyzing and m
odeling the dendritic growth of this system. (C) 1996 Optical Society
