Vi. Kravtsova, INTERPRETABILITY OF DAMAGE TO VEGETATION DUE TO INDUSTRIAL-POLLUTION BASED ON GROUND SPECTROMETRY, Earth observation and remote sensing, 13(5), 1996, pp. 821-832
Analysis of the results of ground spectrometry of mountain tundra vege
tation of the Kola Peninsula, damaged by gaseous emissions by the cupr
o-nickel industry has shown that differences are observed in the spect
ral signatures of lichen (subdivided according to species), lichen wit
h dwarf shrubs, dwarf shrub vegetation, the remains of dead plants and
stones with or without lichen. The possibility of identifying pollute
d wastelands and heavily damaged tundra from multiband images is asses
sed, although a more detailed classification of the remaining tundra a
ccording to the degree of damage was not performed.
