Zh. Gu et al., COMPARISON OF DYNAMIC BEHAVIOR OF THE ANODIC-DISSOLUTION OF COPPER INAQUEOUS CHLORIDE AND BROMIDE SOLUTIONS, Electrochimica acta, 41(13), 1996, pp. 2045-2054
Differences in the dynamic behaviour of the anodic dissolution of copp
er in aqueous NaCl and NaBr solutions containing SCN- ions were studie
d. In a neutral solution, addition of small amounts of NaBr to relativ
ely concentrated NaCl solutions modifies oscillation amplitude, freque
ncy and mean current density. While the mean value of the anodic curre
nt density is essentially the same in 0.5 mol dm(-3) NaCl and 0.5 mol
dm(-3) NaBr electrolytes containing 0.5 mol dm(-3) sulfuric acid, fluc
tuation patterns are different. The experimental results are interpret
ed via Fractional Brownian Motion theory and analyzed by the principle
s of chemical equilibria. Copyright (C) 1996. Elsevier Science Ltd.
