Abstract
Inhaled interleukin 8 caused an increase in goblet cell secretion in g uinea pig tracheas, which was accompanied by mucosal infiltration of n eutrophils, These responses were inhibited by pretreatment with roxith romycin or erythromycin in a dose-dependent fashion, Macrolides may th us be of value in protecting against neutrophil-associated airway hype rsecretion.
