Abstract
The Wess-Zumino term of the spinning string is constructed in terms of its anomalies using an extended field-antifield formalism. A new feat ure appears from the fact that the nonanomalous transformations do not form a subgroup. The algebra of the extended variables closes only us ing the equations of motion derived from the WZ term.
