Aqueous solubilities of nine tetrachlorobenzyltoluenes (TCBTs) were de
termined at 25 degrees C using a generator column technique. The aqueo
us solubility of 2,2',4,4',6,6'-hexachlorobiphenyl was determined and
appeared tb be relatively high, but still comparable with literature v
alues of this PCB. Solubility values of TCBTs ranged from 0.00139 to 0
.01829 g.m(-3) Additional aqueous solubilities of the same TCBTs added
as a mixture were determined, ranging from 0.00076 to 0.00489 g.m(-3)
. No correlations were found between the aqueous solubilities of TCBT
isomers, determined individually and in a mixture and between the aque
ous solubilities and 1-octanol/water partition coefficients, respectiv
