Abstract
We have discussed the advantages to be gained from the use of dynamic link libraries (DLLs) for the development of knowledge based systems f or the Microsoft Windows operating system. The implementation aspects are now described, and we provide general directions, background infor mation and a number of fragments of useful code for DLL development. A s an illustration, a DLL for classical statistical distributions is de veloped by writing a set of interface functions for an available C lib rary.
