Ovarian juvenile granulosa cell tumors are a rare cause of sexual prec
ocity. Clinical examination, serum estradiol levels, and pelvic imagin
g studies have been used traditionally to detect such tumors. Immunoas
says for mullerian inhibitory substance and inhibin have recently been
noted to provide a more sensitive means of tumor detection in adults.
We now describe two girls with this type of tumor in whom serum conce
ntrations of inhibin and mullerian inhibitory substance were used as t
umor markers.
