Ne. Betz et Kl. Klein, RELATIONSHIPS AMONG MEASURES OF CAREER SELF-EFFICACY, GENERALIZED SELF-EFFICACY, AND GLOBAL SELF-ESTEEM, Journal of career assessment, 4(3), 1996, pp. 285-298
This study involved the examination of relationships among behavior-do
main-specific measures of career self-efficacy and measures of general
ized self-efficacy and global self-esteem. Correlations of domain-spec
ific measures were higher with generalized self-efficacy than with glo
bal self-esteem and were higher, in some cases significantly so, for m
ale than for female students. The domains most strongly correlated wit
h generalized self-efficacy were career decision-making self-efficacy
in both sexes and several of the Holland (1973, 1985) theme self-effic
acy measures in men.
