Recurrent vaginal clear cell adenocarcinoma was diagnosed in two DES-e
xposed patients 17 and 19 years after initial therapy. These cases dem
onstrate the need for continued clinical evaluation, since patients wi
th clear cell carcinoma of the vagina seem to be at greater risk for d
eveloping late recurrences than patients with squamous cell carcinomas
