Abstract
The scaling analysis of the equilibrium behaviour of polyelectrolyte b rushes immersed in water-salt solution is presented. The effect of pol yvalent salt ions is investigated for the brushes with quenched and an nealed charges. The nontrivial dependence of brush thickness on the io nic strength is predicted and discussed.
