Abstract
The synthesis of polyelectrolytes is described of an unsaturated amphi phile with polar and non-polar monomers in a lamellar liquid crystal u sing low angle x-ray diffraction to obtain information about conformat ional changes and location of monomers in the lamellar structure. The results demonstrated the potential to use the synthesis in a lamellar liquid crystal to obtain comb copolymers with polar or non-polar combs .
