The electrochemical behavior of oxyanions of molybdenum(VI) in chlorid
e-metaphosphate melts is studied by the voltammetry and potentiometry
techniques. The electrochemical behavior of the platinum-oxygen and mo
lybdenum electrodes is investigated. Conditions for the concurrent ele
ctroreduction of molybdenum and carbon and the high-temperature synthe
sis of fine molybdenum carbide powders are determined.
