Thrombotic microangiopathy which includes thrombotic thrombocytic purp
ura and hemolytic uremic syndrome can occur during pregnancy or post p
artum. No general advices could be given regarding the outcome of a se
cond pregnancy after this complication as there is only one case repor
t published up to now. We describe here a young patient with pregnancy
-associated thrombotic microangiopathy who showed no recurrence of the
symptoms during another pregnancy. Despite impaired renal function lo
w blood pressure and low protein intake before and during the second p
regnancy as well as moderate weight gain and administration of aspirin
and magnesium may all have contributed to the good maternal and perin
atal outcome.
