Abstract
Winter activity of a guild of lizards in The Cape region (Baja Califor nia Sur peninsula, Mexico) was studied during October-March 1993. Adul ts of Uta stansburiana, Urosaurus nigricaudus and Cnemidophorus hypery thrus and juveniles of Callisaurus draconoides maintained some activit y during the entire period although with low numbers of individuals. O ver 70% of observations corresponded to adult individuals. The warm wi nter of the area and small body size may favour the lack of total hibe rnation in these species.
