Abstract
This article examines the relationship between alcohol use and sexual abuse for both male perpetrators and female survivors with a special e mphasis on antecedent factors of substance abuse for survivors. Treatm ent issues for women survivors are discussed and therapeutic intervent ions are suggested. Finally, the use of 12-step programs in a manner w hich is helpful with survivors is discussed.
