We report an experimental study of the CW Auger transition of vanadium
. A comparison between the experimental spectrum and the self-convolut
ion of the calculated density of states (DOS) failed to show any signi
ficant shift between the spectra as reported for Ti and Sc. We have al
so found good agreement between our experimental and Contini's et al./
1/ calculated CVV spectrum of vanadium which may suggest that the scre
ening of the core hole is not as important for the vanadium CW Auger s
pectrum as might be expected. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Ltd
