We report a case of bacteremia due to a strain identified as Gordona s
puti in a patient with metastatic melanoma. The origin of infection re
mains unknown, but extensive cutaneous lesions due to interleukin-2 tr
eatment may have been the portal of entry. The isolate was related to
G. sputi on the basis of its biochemical and genomic properties but ex
hibited some differences from the type strain.
