The electronic state of the 2D Hubbard model is investigated by includ
ing effects of two-site local correlation. The upper and lower Hubbard
bands have a three-peak structure at half-filling. With doping of car
riers, an increase of the density of states at the Fermi level is indu
ced. The results show similar shapes of the electron spectral function
to those obtained in the numerical simulation by Dagotto et al.
