Abstract
This paper develops a theory for turbulent vapor condensation in verti cal tubes when non-condensable gases are present. The local heat trans fer coefficient is calculated and the results are compared with experi mental data. Approximate methods to calculate the condensate film thic kness with good precision are developed without need to iterate to sol ve the transcendental equation which obeys the him thickness. A compar ison of the theory predictions with some experimental data resulted in a good agreement. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Ltd.
