P. Clavere et al., TREATMENT OF LOCALLY ADVANCED, BASAL-CELL CARCINOMA (BCC) BY NEOADJUVANT CHEMOTHERAPY AND RADIOTHERAPY, EJD. European journal of dermatology, 6(5), 1996, pp. 383-383
BCC is usually controlled by surgery or radiation therapy [1, 2]. Thes
e treatments are not always effective or possible when the lesions are
extensive (inoperable lesions, maiming surgery, dosimetric problems i
n radiotherapy, unacceptable cosmetic or functional results...). Furth
ermore, the tumor size is an important factor in the potential for loc
al control [2]. Recent studies indicate promising results in using che
motherapy as a sole and neoadjuvant treatment of advanced BCC [3, 4].
We report two cases of locally advanced BCC treated by a combination o
f chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
