IDENTIFICATION OF ECTOMYCORRHIZAE FROM TUBER SPECIES BY RFLP ANALYSISOF THE ITS REGION

Polymorphisms of a ribosomal DNA I region (ITS) have been analysed usi ng a specific pair of primers, in order Co type fruitbodies and ectomy corrhizae of different truffle species. The identification of ectomyco rrhizae was obtained by digestion of the PCR products using restrictio n enzymes. The results show that the strategy used is both suitable an d sensitive to characterize the symbiotic fungi from few mycorrhized r oot tips.
