Abstract
This paper discusses the issue of regional network development amongst libraries, drawing examples from Europe and the South Pacific islands - included are EUROLIB, SCOPAL, PIALA and PIG. EUROLIB (The European Communities and Associated Institutions Library Co-operative Group) is treated in terms of its origins and scope; objectives; development an d achievements and an overall evaluation given, Input from EUROLIB was available at the founding of SPARDIN (South Pacific Regional Developm ent Information Network).
