Abstract
Volcanic eruptions can cause many hazards for livestock. These include pyroclastic flows, lahars, tsunamis, lava, tephra, lightning, gas and acid rain. Experience gained during recent eruptions in New Zealand a nd Iceland has enlarged our understanding of the dangers so that ratio nal reactions can be made during times of emergency.
