DENSITIES, REFRACTIVE-INDEXES, SPEEDS OF SOUND, AND ISENTROPIC COMPRESSIBILITIES OF WATER PLUS METHANOL PLUS 2-METHOXY-2-METHYLBUTANE AT 298.15-K

The densities, refractive indices, and speeds of sound of homogeneous mixtures of water + methanol + 2-methoxy-2-methylbutane at 298.15 K we re determined and used to calculate excess molar volumes (V-E), molar refractions (R), and isentropic compressibilities (k(s)). The V-E data and the deviations of R(Delta R) and k(s)(Delta h(s)) from mole fract ion and volume fraction averages, respectively, of these properties of the pure components, were satisfactorily correlated with the composit ion data using the Redlich-Kister polynomial.
