A detailed analysis of the secondary liposoluble metabolites of the Ve
rongida sponge Aplysina archery has been performed. Ten bromotyrosine
derivatives have been identified of which one, 1, is a novel compound.
Structure of 1 has been assigned on the basis of spectroscopic eviden
ce including 2D-NMR experiments. Absolute configuration has been sugge
sted by helicity rule. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Ltd
