Abstract
The epimeric stereotetrads 12 and 14 have been prepared starting from the Diels-Alder endo adduct of furan and acrylic acid. The key steps o f the route were the alkylative cleavage of the oxygen bridge and the transformation of the resulting cyclic vinyl sulfone into the allyl is omer.
