Abstract
The 52100 bearing steel grade is now produced in the three steel shops of Ascometal. In order to achieve and maintain a high level of cleanl iness, procedures have been defined for steelmaking, secondary metallu rgy, prevention of reoxidations and selection of refractories. The rol ling contact fatigue behaviour has been significantly improved, The sa me level of quality is achieved in steel produced by continuous castin g as by ingot casting.
