Abstract
The influence of electrochromic damage on a phase-locked cw doubly res onant optical parametric oscillator (OPO) was examined for KTiOPO4(KTP ) crystals grown by three different methods. The damage occurred at a relatively low E-field of similar to 3V/mm. Additional thermal feedbac k control was effective to reduce the E-field necessary for the phase locking for long-term operation.
