2-DIMENSIONAL PLASMA MAPPING USING STRING PROBES

A method for mapping a two-dimensional plasma density distribution was developed by combining probe measurements with computed tomography. T his method reduces data for mapping a two-dimensional plasma density d istribution without causing much plasma disturbances. It follows that instantaneous mapping and its temporal evolution can be obtained. This diagnostic technique was investigated in detail.
