Abstract
A method for calculating diffusive characteristics of an ensemble of i nternal gravity waves (IGW) is presented. The method is based on a par ametrization of the spectral characteristics of the wave ensemble and on the Weinstock formula for the tensor of the saturated IGW diffusion coefficients. The vertical profiles of the diagonal elements of the w ave diffusion tensor are calculated for altitudes of 5-100 km. The dep endence of the diffusion coefficients on the wind velocity and the Ric hardson number of the background flow is calculated. It is demonstrate d that this dependence is different at different altitudes.
