Abstract
A significant increase in the photosensitivity of germanosilicate glas s to UV radiation from an argon laser (351 nm) was observed after its treatment in hydrogen. An investigation of the ESR spectra of irradiat ed hydrogen-saturated samples provided unequivocal evidence of a photo chemical reaction of oxygen-deficit germanium centres with hydrogen.
