Iz. Sharipov et Ky. Mulyukov, AN OPTOELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT FOR MEASURING GIANT MAGNETOSTRICTION OF RARE-EARTH-METALS, Instruments and experimental techniques, 39(5), 1996, pp. 760-761
An instrument for measuring giant magnetostriction of rare-earth metal
s is described. Owing to the optoelectronic cell with a linear charact
eristic, this device makes it possible to measure small-sized (8-10 mm
) samples cooled to 78 K. The accuracy of sample length measurements i
s 0.05 mu m, and the time required to measure the magnetostriction hys
teresis loop is 1 min. Magnetostriction of dysprosium and terbium were
measured with this device.
