Abstract
An isolated hexabromocuprate(II) anion has been characterized as an el ongated square bipyramid by X-ray structure determination of the amino guanidinium salt (CH8N4)(2) [CuBr6]. We have carried out X-ray structu re analysis. The magnetic susceptibility has been measured and the sta bility conditions for the compound studied. The structure consists of virtually planar aminoguanidinium(2+) cations and bipyramidal [CuBr6]( 4-) anions forming a framework through N-H...Br hydrogen bonds of 3.14 3-1.582 Angstrom.
