Abstract
The expression for the force between two parallel screw dislocations i s derived in the framework of the Yang-Mills-type gauge theory of disl ocations earlier proposed by Kadic and Edelen [A gauge theory of dislo cations and disclinations (Springer, Berlin, 1983)] and later develope d by Valsakumar and Sahoo [Bull. Mater. Sci. 10 (1988) 3].
