An effective electron-phonon model for La(2-x)M(x)CuO(4) allowing for
structural phase transitions (SPT) from high-temperature tetragonal ph
ase (HTT) to low-temperature orthorhombic phase (LTO) and to low-tempe
rature tetragonal phase (LTT) is proposed. The dependence of the super
conducting transition temperature T-c on the hole concentration n is c
alculated for HTT, LTO and LIT phases using the Green function techniq
ue. A dip of T-c is found at the transition to LTT phase owing to spli
tting of two oxygen bands (at half filling).
