Abstract
A simple apparatus has been developed for the spectroscopic temperatur e measurement of combustion gases. It has been used to measure the tem poral temperature-time distribution of exploded gas in the muzzle flas h from a small calibre rifle. From our experiments, three distinct fla shes can be observed clearly. The maximum time resolution and accuracy for temperature measurement are 40 mu s and 6%, respectively.
