The manifestations of AIDS in the gastrointestinal tract in children a
re mainly secondary to opportunistic infections and AIDS-related neopl
asms. This article reviews the radiologic and pathologic findings seen
throughout the gastrointestinal tract and within the abdomen in child
ren afflicted with AIDS, Although many radiologic findings are not spe
cific for a particular infection or neoplasm, the radiologist can narr
ow the differential diagnosis with a goad knowledge of the imaging fin
dings and pathologies specific for children with AIDS.
