MEASURING FARM FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE FOR BEEF COW OPERATIONS WITH MULTIPLE OPERATIONS

Computing pertinent farm financial measures and providing benchmarks f or whole-farm performance measures for beef cow operations using Kansa s Farm Management Association data were demonstrated. Results indicate d that financial performance was higher for farms with large beef cow herds and farms that were more diversified. The importance of measurin g financial performance will become increasingly critical for producer s in the future due to a number of changes in the beef industry.
