Flavor asymmetries for the valence and sea quarks of the Sigma(+/-) ca
n be obtained from Drell-Yan experiments using charged hyperon beams o
n proton and deuteron targets. A large, measurable difference in sea q
uark asymmetries is predicted between SU(3) and pseudoscalar meson mod
els. The latter predict that in Sigma(+), (u) over bar/(d) over bar le
ss than or equal to 1/2, whereas the former predict (u) over bar/(d) o
ver bar approximate to 4/3. Estimates of valence quark asymmetries bas
ed on quark models also show large deviations from SU(3) predictions,
which should be measurable.
