Abstract
Multifocal motor neuropathy is characterized by a progressive asymetri cal weakness, predominantly affecting the upper limbs with persistent conduction blocks on motor sensory nerves. Treatment woth prednisone a nd plasma exchanges have failed to demonstrate any positive effects. S ome improvements have been reported with cyclophosphamide. Mainly immu noglobulin therapy has been evaluated with a beneficial response in al most 70% of the cases. These benefits obtained over periods of less th an six months have recently been confirmed by a long-term evaluation o f 18 patients treated by repented infusions.
