Local rotates of the substructure elements of coarse-grain aluminum ar
e measured directly during deformation by Fujivara x-ray topography. A
n abrupt change in the angles of rotation is observed in the initial s
tage of deformation (epsilon < 0.5%) which match the experimental resu
lts of laser speckle-interferometry. This method makes it possible to
study the nature of plastic strain directly on a mesolevel.
