Abstract
A method for evaluating the Bauschinger effect by the results of testi ng for stretching and successive compression of standard plane specime ns is considered. We developed a special unit providing for plastic co mpression of large timbers without any losses in the firmness of the e quilibrium form. This effect is exemplified in the study of 1420 aniso tropic aluminum-lithium alloy.
